Tremont Capital Management Inc., a manager of hedge funds of funds, said Monday that it had hired Barry Tannen to be sales director for U.S. financial institutions.

Mr. Tannen is to manage Tremont's U.S. financial institution-based sales efforts and will report to Robert Rosenbaum, a senior vice president and director of the investment adviser group. Mr. Tannen will be responsible to initiate and maintain senior relationships with larger financial institutions that have the ability to recommend or direct investments into Tremont-managed portfolios.
Before joining Tremont, he was the principal in charge of intermediary sales and marketing at Mezzacappa and also formerly headed alternative sales and marketing at Bank of New York.
