UCBH Holdings Inc. in San Francisco announced Monday that it had named banking veteran George A. Baker Jr. a senior vice president and regional director of its Pacific Northwest region.
Mr. Baker, who most recently worked in the international division of the $1.8 billion-asset Far East National Bank in Los Angeles, will oversee UCBH's expansion in the Northwest.
The $8 billion-asset parent of United Commercial Bank caters to Chinese-Americans and has 46 branches or loan offices in California, New York, Massachusetts, and Washington State, as well as offices in China and Taiwan. It entered the Northwest last year when it bought the $164 million-asset Pacifica Bancorp in Bellevue, Wash.
