PHILADELPHIA - announced it will supply real-time banking services through Palm Inc.'s new series of handheld computers.

In March, launched Bank Unplugged to offer its customers access to account balances, history, transfers, and bill payment through Palm VII handheld devices and Sprint PCS Web-enabled phones. Customers were required to download the Palm software from the Web site.

Under the new agreement, Palm users wishing to use's wireless banking service will need to download a file into their Palm, and sign up for a bank account, or, if they are already a customer, enter an existing user code and password. Then they will be able to open accounts, transfer funds, pay bills, and use e-mail at no extra charge.
