Victory Capital Management, the asset management subsidiary of Cleveland's KeyCorp, said Monday that it had promoted Robert Wagner to chief executive officer of the unit.
Mr. Wagner, who had been Victory's president, succeeded Richard J. Buoncore, its CEO since 1999, who has decided to leave "to pursue an entrepreneurial venture," Victory said.
Since joining Victory in July, Mr. Wagner has headed the unit's business planning, strategic development, investment management, and product management groups. Before joining Victory he was the president and chief executive officer of Gartmore Emerging Managers LLC, a division of the Columbus, Ohio, insurance company Nationwide Inc.
Victory manages investment portfolios for corporations, labor unions, nonprofit organizations, government entities, individuals, and families. It has more than $54 billion of assets under management.
