In Brief: Wamu Hires Wachovia Exec for Planning

SEATTLE — Washington Mutual Inc. has hired Brad L. Anderson, a senior executive at Wachovia Corp., to direct profitability and performance measurement at the Seattle thrift company.

Brad L. Anderson started this month as senior vice president for corporate planning at Washington Mutual. He is responsible for guiding the profitability modeling and financial forecasting process. He reports to vice chairman and chief financial officer William A. Longbrake and succeeds Karen Christensen, who resigned in April.

Mr. Anderson was a senior vice president and performance measurement manager at Wachovia.
