Washington Mutual Inc. named John Woods the chief financial officer of its home loan division.
Mr. Woods replaced Steve Fortunato, who has become senior vice president of finance for capital markets and servicing at Wamu.
Melissa Ballenger, a senior vice president and the assistant controller of Wamu since August 2006, succeeded Mr. Woods as the Seattle thrift company's controller.
A Wamu spokesman said a successor for Ms. Ballenger had not yet been chosen.
The changes were disclosed in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing March 8, the same day they took effect.
Mr. Woods reports to David Schneider, the president of the home loan division, and Tom Casey, Wamu's CFO.
Ms. Ballenger reports to Mr. Casey.
