W.P. Stewart & Co. Ltd., an asset manager based in Hamilton, Bermuda, announced Monday that John C. Russell will be its interim president and chief executive starting March 31.
Henry B. Smith is resigning as president and CEO on March 31 because of complications following successful surgery early last year.
The board has established a committee to conduct a search for a permanent president and CEO and expects to fill the position in the next few months.
Mr. Russell will remain on the board of directors and the board's executive committee. Mr. Smith will be the board's new deputy chairman and will continue to be a member of the executive committee.
