In Brief: Wilmington Trust Adds Web Features

WILMINGTON, DEL. — Wilmington Trust Corp. relaunched its Web site last week with several new features, including personalized content, an alert system, single-click access to account information, original articles on financial topics, and e-mail access to its investment specialists.

The banking company, which serves wealthy individuals and institutions, hopes to sell additional products and services to existing customers and to entice new ones, said Fil Sherry, who heads Wilmington’s e-business division. The company has taken steps to ensure that its site will turn up in response to search engine inquiries, he said.

By the end of this year, Wilmington expects to have added real-time dialogue via e-mail and online bank and brokerage account applications, Mr. Sherry said. It is also considering providing account aggregation, although no plans are imminent, he said.
