Indian Processor Opens First U.S. Office

ElectraCard Services Pvt Ltd, a payment processor based in India, is opening its first U.S. office, in Omaha, Neb.

ElectraCard, a unit of Opus Software Solutions Pvt Ltd, announced its expansion Monday. It plans to open two other international offices this year. Its Americas office is led by Dale Van Stratten, a veteran of ACI Worldwide Inc. and First Data Corp..

ElectraCard "has a unique and valuable service offering, and I'm very excited to introduce these offerings to the Americas market," Van Stratten said in a press release. "The response from the marketplace thus far has been nothing short of extraordinary."

Ramesh Mengawade, the chief executive of Opus and ElectraCard, said in the release that ElectraCard has served financial institutions for over seven years, and that it "will soon build a strong foothold in the U.S. and Americas market."

The U.S. office would handle ElectraCard's client-facing sales, implementation, post-sales and services and support functions for the Americas.
