Intuit Inc., continuing the rollout of its mobile card acceptance system, announced Tuesday that its Intuit GoPayment application is available for free downloading from Apple Inc. for use on the iPhone and iPod.
GoPayment lets users swipe credit and debit cards using a wireless magnetic-stripe reader. In June Intuit, a Mountain View, Calif., vendor, introduced a version of the application for the Palm Pre, another touch-screen handset.
When it introduced GoPayment in May, Intuit had versions of the downloadable application that worked with certain BlackBerry, Sanyo and Motorola handsets.
