Investors Bancorp in Short Hills, N.J., has hired a former Capital One Financial executive to head its enterprise risk management team.
Philippa Girling was appointed to the newly created position of chief risk officer of the $20.3 billion-asset company on Monday, according to a news release. Girling will oversee Investors' Bank Secrecy Act, compliance and credit risk departments. Girling previously was business risk officer for Capital One's commercial bank.
Investors also announced it had hired Brian Doran as general counsel in October.
Doran was previously a region executive for the New York Metro market and director of government affairs at Popular Bank, where he had worked since 1999. Before that he was an attorney at the firms McConnell Valdez and Jones Day.
