JPM Card Offer Targets Rich Travelers

JPMorgan Chase & Co. and British Airways PLC will offer new customers 100,000 airline miles as the battle for affluent spenders intensifies.

The miles, worth a round-trip transatlantic flight, will go to people who spend $2,000 on the co-branded British Airways Signature Visa card within the first three months, according to a statement issued Thursday.

Customers who spend at least $30,000 in the first year will get a matching travel voucher for a companion, and cardholders will earn 1.25 mile for each dollar spent, a 25% increase, according to the statement. A $75 annual fee is charged.

The promotion was scheduled to start today for U.S. British Airways Executive Club members and Nov. 16 for nonmembers.
