JPM's Executive Changes Put Petno on the Rise

Two top executives of JPMorgan Chase & Co. — commercial-banking head Todd Maclin and international operations head Heidi Miller — are expected to step down from their posts.

Maclin, 55, is expected to take another senior position with the New York banking company soon and be succeeded by Douglas Petno, currently chief operating officer of commercial banking, according to a person familiar with the matter. Maclin's departure is not a surprise because Petno has been assuming more of the day-to-day responsibilities of the division since he was named its COO in October, this person said.

Miller, 58, will likely retire in 2012 as president of international operations, with her responsibilities to be absorbed by the company's overseas business units, according a Wall Street Journal report.

Miller assumed the newly created position last June after running JPMorgan Chase's treasury and security services division.
