Lynk POS terminal lets customer run transaction.

Lynk Systems Inc., a third party processor, has introduced a point of sale terminal, called Omni 490, designed specifically for multi-lane grocery store environments.

This new POS system is a customer-activated independent terminal installed at the check-out lane.

With Omni 490, the customer can activate the terminal to accept ATM-debit cards, credit cards, check verification, and electronic benefits transfer trans-actions.

Because it is customer activated, the system eliminates the exchange of the card between the customer and the cashier. The system also comes with a debit cash-back feature.

It can function over dial-up or leased communication lines.

Lynk Systems has also introduced a new hand-held tableside terminal designed to serve restaurants and gaming facilities.

This device allows customers to complete credit or debit transaction at their table. Here, too, the customer maintains possession of the card throughout the transaction.
