Manulife Planning Brand Consolidation

Manulife Investments Inc. of Toronto is consolidating its mutual fund lineup.

Two fund families, the Elliott & Page Funds and the Mix Funds, will be eliminated. The Manulife Simplicity Portfolios will not change. Doug Conick, vice president of investment funds, said Wednesday that the Manulife Financial Corp. unit wanted to "leverage the Manulife name more consistently across our mutual fund product platform."

Elliott & Page Funds will become Manulife Funds; Mix Funds will become Manulife Corporate Class Funds. The transition is expected to take place on or about Aug. 24.
