Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. announced Thursday it promoted Isadore Jermyn to chief actuary.
As chief actuary, Mr. Jermyn, 57, has oversight of actuarial reviews, monitoring and compliance matters related to product reserves, product pricing and illustrations, legally-required actuarial opinions, and other actuarial activities. He is also responsible for MassMutual's actuarial team, recommends and develops the company's annual policyholder dividend schedule, and serves as MassMutual's primary rating agency liaison.
Mr. Jermyn joined MassMutual in 1980 after working at Southern Life Association in South Africa, and the Prudential Assurance Co. in England and Canada.
During his tenure at MassMutual, he has worked in various senior management positions in the individual life, annuity and disability income product development and financial analysis.
MassMutual, which is based in Springfield, Mass., had more than $450 billion in assets under management at the end of last year.
