MasterCard Inc. said it has appointed Marcie Verdin as its group head for global person-to-person payments.
The Purchase, N.Y., company said Wednesday that Verdin would handle its global P-to-P strategy, including identifying new payment systems. She replaces Andrew Ong, who has left the company.
Verdin, who has worked at MasterCard since 2005, was most recently its group head for global commercial products. The company said she has "made significant contributions" in developing products for its business segments. Verdin has also worked at Galileo International, VeriSign, Visa Inc., American Express Co. and Accenture PLC.
