Meca in Alliance to Develop Financial Portal Site

Meca Software LLC is teaming up with Intelligent Life Corp., a developer of personal financial Web sites, to create a financial portal site.

Meca's new MoneyScape Internet banking software, which lets consumers download data from multiple institutions, would be available through the site.

In addition, consumers would be able to execute transactions with financial providers affiliated with the site. The two companies are seeking providers, including insurance companies, banks, brokerage firms, and electronic commerce providers, said Paul D. Harrison, president and chief executive officer of Meca.

The site, called Managing Your Money at MYM.com, also would offer record-keeping tools, calculators, shopping services, and independent advice on issues such as home buying, investing, and retirement planning.

"The concept of creating a national brand for delivering financial services with costs shared by a limited number of best-of-breed providers is likely to be an attractive value proposition both for consumers and financial service providers," Mr. Harrison said.

Intelligent Life, based in North Palm Beach, Fla., is to supervise the design and content of MYM.com. The company already produces six financial Web sites, including ones for Bank Rate Monitor, which offers interest rate information, and theWhiz.com, which offers personal finance and lifestyle information for people 18 to 35 years old.
