MidSouth Bancorp in Lafayette, La., has promoted the son of Chief Executive Rusty Cloutier to president of MidSouth Bank.

Troy Cloutier, who joined MidSouth in 1992 at age 18, has been chief banking officer at the $2 billion-asset bank since January 2011, He will now take on more responsibilities of managing the bank, and he will retain the chief banking officer title, the company said.

Reaux, who had also been MidSouth's vice chairman, died of an illness in February 2014 at age 53.
