MTB Bank of N.Y. taps Bartholomew for top post.

John M. Bartholomew has been appointed president and chief executive of MTB Bank of New York.

Mr. Bartholomew, who was also elected to the board of directors, succeeds Frederic N. Tordella as president. Mr. Tordella has been appointed vice chairman of the board and continues as chief executive of the bank.

Mr. Tordella has been president of MTB Bank for the past four years and has been with the bank 13 years.

Darren S. Schulman was appointed executive vice president and was elected a director of the privately held merchant banking company. He has been with MTB Bank for 12 years and is its chief financial officer.

Mr. Bartholomew joins MTB after eight years as general manager and chief executive officer for the U.S. operation of the State Bank of New South Wales Ltd.
