NATIONAL CITY Bank Northeast, Akron, Ohio, a unit of National City Corp., Cleveland, named Timothy R. Fitzwater executive vice president.
Mr. Fitzwater will oversee human resources, corporate banking, financial analysis, and marketing. He has been with National City for 23 years, most recently as senior vice president for corporate banking.
The Cleveland-based bank is projecting steady growth in net interest income even as credit losses remain manageable. But Chairman and CEO Chris Gorman also said that he thinks a recession is likely.
