NCR Finance Chief to Join Starbucks

NCR Corp. said Peter Bocian will resign in May as its chief financial officer to become executive vice president and chief financial officer designate at Starbucks Corp.

Mr. Bocian, 52, has held various accounting and administrative positions during his 24-year career at the Dayton, Ohio, automated teller machine maker. He was named its CFO in 2004.

NCR announced his plan Tuesday.

He will step down May 11, after NCR's 2007 fiscal first-quarter earnings announcement, and will start his new job May 14. He is expected to succeed Michael Casey, Starbucks' current CFO, when he retires Oct. 1.

NCR said it is looking for two new CFOs: one for the company and one for the Teradata division, which it plans to spin off at the end of next quarter.
