The Portland, Ore., prepaid tech provider Vesta Corp. said NetSpend Corp. will use Vesta's Web reload service for NetSpend prepaid cards.
NetSpend, of Austin, said in a press release Monday that it would add up to $250 in real time to its cards when funded online from a bank debit card. It said this provides a practical alternative to reloading its cards at a physical location.
The Vesta service also allows prepaid card owners to receive funds to their cards as gifts through an online system.
Dan Henry, NetSpend's chief executive, said in a press release that the Vesta technology "allowed NetSpend to quickly implement his new convenient and secure channel."
