New York Life Insurance Co. has announced the return of Steven D. Lash to the company as a senior vice president in the corporate finance department and the promotion of Richard J. Witterschein to first vice president and treasurer.
Mr. Lash is to manage several of New York Life's core financial functions, including its actuarial, tax, and treasury departments, as well as all facets of its corporate development department, the company said Monday.
He was a principal in the insurance and actuarial advisory services division at Ernst & Young. Previously, he worked for five years at Chase Manhattan Bank as a vice president in the insurance corporate finance division. He began his career with New York Life in 1987 as an actuarial assistant.
Mr. Witterschein is the overall manager for the treasury department. He has worked at New York Life since 1996 as a director in the treasury department. He was promoted to assistant vice president in 1997, corporate vice president in 2000, and vice president last year.
