The Account Control Technology Foundation (ACT Foundation), a non-profit, charitable foundation established by the founders of Woodland Hills, Calif.-based Account Control Technology Inc., has announced the 50 winners of its $1,000 college scholarships for 2014.
Winners were selected from a total of 488 applications.
"The pool of applicants for the foundation programs was very strong this year, and several winners were high school valedictorians," said Dale Van Dellen, chairman of Account Control Technology and the ACT Foundation. "I am pleased the foundation is able to help these future leaders further their educations, which will be so important for their ongoing success.
The 25 winners for the programs for college first-year students who will enroll as sophomores in the fall are listed
The ACT Cares Community Scholarship Program is for graduating high school seniors from the communities surrounding Account Control Technologys offices, including Kern and Los Angeles counties in California; Hamilton and Warren counties in Ohio; and Dallas, Denton, Collin, and Tom Green counties in Texas.

Scholarship recipients were selected based on an evaluation of academic records, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual circumstances, an outside appraisal and financial need. The scholarship selection process was administered independently by Scholarship Management Services, the nations largest manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs.
ACT Foundation is a charitable organization established by Dale and Debbie Van Dellen with a mission "to improve the future of students and the greater community by offering financial literacy and debt management education, mentorship and support to those in need."
Account Control Technology is a provider of consultative debt management, collections, call center and business office solutions for education, government, commercial and consumer entities. The company is a member of ACA International, the largest association representing collection agencies.
