Northern Trust Corp. promoted Susan Mallory to president of southern California and Nevada for its personal financial services unit.
Ms. Mallory, 53, was the president of the Chicago company's San Diego region. She will move to the Los Angeles area and will be in charge of building Northern Trust brand and its high-net-worth business in the region.
Ms. Mallory, whose promotion was announced last week, began her career at UnionBanCal Corp., a Los Angeles company mostly owned by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc. Before joining Northern Trust in 2003, she had run the commercial banking center for City National Bank in San Diego.
Salim Janmohamed succeeded Ms. Mallory as the San Diego region president. Mr. Janmohamed, 57, was a managing director of its LaJolla, Calif., office for the past two years. Before joining Northern Trust in 2000, he had been the city executive for San Diego at Bank of America Corp.'s private bank.
Northern Trust's personal financial services unit has offices in Las Vegas, Seattle, and 11 California locations.
