Northern Trust Corp.'s asset management arm, Northern Trust Global Investments, has added seven emerging and minority-owned broker-dealers to its list of preferred equity trading partners.
The firms were approved after a solicitation and due-diligence process aimed at expanding the Northern Trust's emerging broker program, the Chicago company said Tuesday. They met requirements for execution capabilities, technology platforms, capital commitment and performance.
The new firms on the list are Cabrera Capital Markets LLC of Chicago; Guzman & Co. of Coral Gables, Fla.; Loop Capital LLC of Chicago, M. Ramsey King Securities Inc. of Burr Ridge, Ill.; Melvin & Co. of Chicago; Robert Van Securities Inc. of Oakland, Calif.; and Samuel A. Ramirez & Co. Inc. of New York.
They were selected from a group of 35 broker-dealers who responded to a request for information, Northern Trust said.
