WASHINGTON — The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency plans to publish Wednesday a document outlining findings on regulating fintech.
The agency announced that the "responsible innovation framework" will include recommendations on how the agency can better "identify, understand and regulate financial innovation."
Since the publication in March of a white paper on fintech, the OCC has also said it is evaluating the possibility of creating a charter geared towards online lenders and other financial innovators. The agency said it would release its findings on a potential fintech charter later this fall.
