Old National Bancorp in Evansville, Ind., said Monday that its fourth-quarter earnings rose 26% from a year earlier, to $22 million.
Earnings per share rose 26%, to 34 cents.
For the full year, Old National's earnings fell 5.6%, to $74.9 million.
The $7.8 billion-asset company, the largest based in Indiana, attributed the fourth-quarter gain to an 11% increase in interest income, to $62.2 million, and a 17.1% increase in income from fees, service charges, and other revenue, to $43.7 million.
By late Monday, Old National's shares had climbed 8.1% from Friday's close, to $16.39.
