Pacific Valley in California Hires Chief Credit Officer

Pacific Valley Bank (PVBK) in Salinas, Calif., has chosen a Bay Area banker as its chief credit officer.

The $177 million-asset bank said Wednesday that it had hired Robert Navarrete, a former chief credit officer at San Francisco's Trans Pacific National Bank. Prior to that, Navarrete was chief credit officer at Global Trust Bank in Mountain View, Calif.

He succeeds Tom Vanderploeg, who joined Idaho Independent Bank in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, as chief credit officer last November. Navarrete joined Pacific Valley in mid-December, chief executive David Warner said.

Warner said that Navarrete's local roots will be an asset as CCO. "He comes from San Jose, and the fact that he's from a neighboring county means he has good connections in the area," Warner said. "It's a very good fit."
