Park National Corp. has named C. Daniel DeLawder, who is president of the Newark, Ohio, company and its Park National Bank, to become their chief executive officer as well on Jan. 1.

Mr. DeLawder joined Park National in 1971. He will succeed William T. McConnell, who will remain chairman.

The bank also promoted David C. Bowers to executive vice president and John W. Kozak and Cheryl L. Snyder to senior vice president.

Mr. Bowers, who had been senior vice president since 1986, is in charge of operations and year-2000 compliance.

Mr. Kozak and Ms. Snyder were vice presidents. He is the bank's chief financial officer. She will become head of consumer and retail banking, succeeding John A. Bakos, a 48-year Park National veteran, who will retire.
