PCI Council Elects a Set of Advisers

The PCI Security Standards Council LLC, which manages the Payment Card Industry data security standard that describes how merchants handle card data, has elected a new board of advisers.

Nominations opened in February, and more than 100 organizations were nominated to the 14 open seats.

The new advisers are from the U.K. payments group Apacs, Bank of America Corp., British Airways PLC, eBay Inc., First Data Corp., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Microsoft Corp., Moneris Solutions Corp., Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC, Tesco Stores Ltd., Total System Services Inc., VeriFone Inc., and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. The council also plans to appoint organizations to seven other seats to ensure broad representation.
