HARRISBURG, Pa. - Gov. Robert P. Casey of Pennsylvania said 1,000 families would be able to buy homes under the third state-financed mortgage loan offering of the year.
He said the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency would make $50 million available for mortgages in mid-August. The interest rate will be 7.85% and closing costs will be held below market rates, Mr. Casey said.
