People's United Hires Citibank Executive

In an attempt to expand business in the Boston area, People's United Bank has hired a Boston-based senior vice president away from Citigroup (NYSE: C).

The $32 billion-asset People's United (PBCT) announced Wednesday that former Citigroup senior vice president in commercial banking Lisa Hudson will join its wealth management group as senior private banker and senior vice president.

Hudson has an extensive history working in financial services in the Greater-Boston area. She worked as a regional director in New England for tax consulting firm Alliantgroup and as a vice president in the middle market commercial group at KeyCorp (KEY) in Boston. Hudson also served as vice president and head of the financial institutions group in Boston for Credit Lyonnais.

People's United, based in Bridgeport, Conn., has nearly 60 branches in Massachusetts.
