People's Utah rebrands its banks as Altabank

People’s Utah Bancorp in American Fork has rebranded its three banks as Altabank.

The $2.3 billion-asset company said in a Tuesday press release that Bank of American Fork, Lewiston State Bank and People’s Town and Country Bank had adopted the new brand. The company said the move unifies its different operating units while clarifying its mission and market position.

People’s Utah also plans to change its name to Altabancorp, though that move will require approval at the company's 2020 shareholder meeting.

“Having different names for each operating unit gave our customers a different impression and often led to confusion,” Len Williams, People’s Utah Bancorp's CEO, said in the release.

“Bringing our operating units together under a single name makes it clear to customers that they will receive the same personalized service ... and that we have the size and scale to handle the full range of their business banking needs.”

The banks will start using the Altabank name and logo next month. Branches in Utah and Idaho will have new exterior signs by the end of the year.
