The prepaid card provider Plastyc Inc. announced Monday that it was awarded a patent for aspects of online card payments.
The New York company's patent covers dispute resolution for digital goods, improving the process of accepting payments on prepaid cards and sharing information about product categories among issuers and merchants.
Plastyc's chief executive, Patrice Peyret, said in a press release that these methods are meant to help improve the functions of existing payment networks.
