Commuters in Warsaw can now use MasterCard Inc. PayPass-enabled cards to pay transit fares as part of a test of contactless card acceptance, according to On Track Innovations Ltd., a technology company that is providing readers for the program.

Approximately 100 bus, train and subway stations are participating in the trial, which began this month, On Track, of Israel, said Monday.
Commuters may purchase tickets with any card issued by a Polish bank that uses MasterCard's PayPass format. Initially, the transit agency is accepting only PayPass and not other networks' contactless cards such as Visa Inc.'s payWave, On Track said.
The trial does not have an end date, a MasterCard spokeswoman said. Twelve banks issue PayPass cards in Poland.
