NEW YORK Michael Mayo is joining Prudential Securities today as senior banking analyst, succeeding Nancy Bush, who was dismissed Monday, sources said.
Last fall Prudential announced it would substantially scale back its investment banking operations as it retrenched to focus more on retail brokerage. It retained its research function.
Other members of Ms. Bushs team, including Jennifer Scutti, who covered specialty finance, were also dismissed Monday.
Mr. Mayo, a controversial and highly visible analyst who was dismissed from Credit Suisse First Boston in October after it bought Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Inc., is bringing a team of former Credit Suisse colleagues with him. One such colleague, Bradley Ball, already works at Prudential as an analyst.
