Prudential Unit Hires Strategist

Prudential Annuities, the domestic annuity business of Prudential Financial Inc. of Newark, N.J., hired Quincy Krosby as chief market strategist, a newly created position.

Krosby will report to Timothy Cronin, the head of investment management for Prudential Annuities. She will "provide perspective on the financial markets and the economy to financial professionals, clients and individual investors," the company said last week.

Krosby had been a chief investment strategist for Hartford Financial Group. Before that she was a global investment strategist for Deutsche Bank Asset Management.

Earlier in her career, Krosby was a U.S. diplomat.

Prudential had $542 billion of assets under management as of March 31.
