RBC Capital Markets of New York, a Royal Bank of Canada unit, has completed its acquisition of Seasongood & Mayer LLC of Cincinnati, Ohio's top public finance firm and an underwriter of municipal debt.

As part of the deal, RBC also acquired Seasongood Asset Management. The price was not disclosed.
The merger bolsters RBC Capital Markets' leadership position in the U.S. municipal investment banking market.
Seasongood Asset Management manages $1.5 billion for public fund clients in Ohio. It will operate as RBC Public Fund Services, a joint venture between RBC Capital Markets and RBC's Voyageur Asset Management.
