Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC's processing unit, RBS WorldPay, said Thursday that it is working with Arsenal Security Group Inc. of McLean, Va., to help Royal Bank's merchants comply with the Payment Card Industry data security standard.
RBS Worldpay said Arsenal would provide its merchant clients with the questionnaires and vulnerability scans they are required to complete under the PCI standard.
Arsenal can also offer RBS customers SmartSearch Technology to scan for improperly stored card data and detect whether merchants are using default passwords for certain payment products.
RBS has taken other steps recently to help its merchant customers improve security. Last month it agreed to offer them VeriFone Holdings Inc.'s VeriShield Protect system, which encrypts data at the point of sale.
"Our approach to security and PCI DSS is to help protect our merchants, provide access to the best technology, and truly be our merchants' advocate," LeAnn Brown, a vice president and head of PCI merchant compliance for RBS WorldPay, said in a press release.
