Rival assumes CBC's modeling operation.

CHICAGO -- Creative Business Decisions Inc., a Princeton, N.J.-based provider of customized credit scoring models, said it has taken over the credit decision modeling operation of CBC Companies.

CBC, based in Columbus, Ohio, said it will locus on its main lines of business - application processing and credit bureau linkage.

"We are pleased they thought to approach us," Creative Business Decisions president Pat Nanda said during the American Bankers Association bank card conference in Chicago. "This transaction brings us at least a dozen clients and probably several future referrals."

He said CBC pioneered systems that predict account-retention behavior, demand for which is growing from both the credit and deposit sides of banks.

"I'm confident about transferring the credit scoring system to the management of Pat Nanda, partly because his management style is much like ours at CBC. and that should mean a smooth transition for our customers," said Benji Price, CBC's vice president of sales.

"Also, Pat has been in the business more than 12 years's and that experience allows him to meet the continuing needs of his clients."
