James J. Dunne III's lost-and-found story involving a briefcase containing $5,000 that he left behind in a New York taxi was the lead item Monday in the legendary gossip column.

A New York taxi company executive whom Dunne had recently met helped him track down the cab and the briefcase, which also contained important company documents and a picture of Dunne's late mother, the Post reported.

Dunne, the senior managing principal of the New York investment bank, called the driver of the cab an "honest guy" whom he planned to invite to his home and reward.

Dunne is the rare finance honcho to get a positive write-up in Page Six, which has aired tawdry gossip through the years about Blackstone Group co-founder Steve Schwarzman and billionaire investor Ron Burkle, among others.
