SAP Buying a Billing Systems Provider

The German business software company SAP AG announced an agreement Wednesday to buy Highdeal SA, a French developer of billing systems.

SAP said it plans to complete the acquisition by next month. It did not disclose the price.

The privately held Highdeal, a 2000 spinoff from France Telecom's research and development labs, provides real-time billing details on voice, data, content and mobility services.

Highdeal has more than 200 customer implementations in industries such as utilities, banking, and transportation and logistics.

SAP said it would use Highdeal's technology to build on its own billing capabilities and develop real-time rating and charging applications.
