Short Takes: Ex-1st Interstate Banker Joins Trust Company

A former First Interstate private banker is now heading up a trust company that manages pension assets from labor unions.

Daniel J. Wroblewski was named president of First Trade Union Trust Co., Los Angeles, late last month.

First Trade has $2 billion under management from 20 labor union clients. Formerly the Guardian Trust Co., it was renamed last year when it was acquired by First Trade Union Savings Bank, an affiliate of the Massachusetts State Carpenters Union.

Mr. Wroblewski was a senior vice president with the former First Interstate Bank of California, where he managed the business development and marketing of its trust and private-client services group for four years. Before that, he worked for 10 years in Chicago as a vice president in sales to institutions and wealthy individuals for Northern Trust Co.
