Short Takes: Fund Marketer in Pa. Signs 2 Small Thrifts

has added two community bank clients: $179 million-asset Brentwood Savings Bank in Bethel Park, Pa., and $90 million-asset Iron Workers Savings Bank in Aston, Pa.

T.H.E. has assigned a dedicated representative to Brentwood Savings, who would sell mutual funds, annuities, and insurance. At Iron Workers, T.H.E. is training bank employees to sell its fixed annuity products.

"With smaller clients, it's almost impossible" to maintain a full-time broker, she said. "This way, we can offer the smallest banks the program and still serve our larger clients."

T.H.E. has 23 bank clients, all in Pennsylvania, ranging in size from $69 million to $550 million of assets. -- Amy L. Anderson
