The private banking arm of the former Midlantic Corp. will become part of PNC Bank Corp.'s private banking division next week.
New Jersey is a new market for PNC private bankers, who are hoping it will be a profitable one. The state's population ranks second to Connecticut in per-capita income.
Executive vice president Barbara Z. Parker, formerly in charge of Midlantic's trust department, and senior vice president Austin Starkey, are the managers of private banking for New Jersey. They report to senior vice president Joseph Guyaux at PNC's Pittsburgh headquarters.
PNC's private bank includes personal banking, trust and investment management services. PNC manages a total of $104.8 billion in discretionary trust assets for institutions and individuals.
