Stephen V. R. Spaulding 3d, has been named president of the Chase Manhattan Trust Company of California, which has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Mr. Spaulding joined Chase from Bank of America, where he was senior vice president and manager of the U.S. private banking division.
His California banking background also includes eight years with San Francisco-based Crocker National Bank in corporate lending and marketing management positions.
The Cleveland-based bank is projecting steady growth in net interest income even as credit losses remain manageable. But Chairman and CEO Chris Gorman also said that he thinks a recession is likely.
