State Street Starts Five Fixed-Income ETFs

State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of Boston's State Street Corp., has announced the introduction of a family of fixed-income exchange-traded funds.

The five portfolios, which were to begin trading on the American Stock Exchange Tuesday, are the SPDR Lehman 1-3 Month T-Bill, SPDR Barclays Tips ETF, SPDR Lehman Aggregate Bond ETF, SPDR Lehman Intermediate Term Treasury ETF, and SPDR Lehman Long TLO Term Treasury ETF, the company said on Monday.

State Street Global Advisors has managed fixed-income index funds since 1984. It managed more than $800 billion of fixed-income securities and cash at March 31 and more than $114 billion of exchange-traded fund assets.
