The face of U.S. student loan debt is usually an under-employed twentysomething. But increasingly, the burden of paying for higher education is falling on older Americans.

In a new report, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau details some troubling findings regarding the rising student debt owed by people in the later stages of life.
